Eli pulled up to her driveway, he liked her house, it was warm and comforting, different than his, but in a good way.  He parked his car not forgetting to quickly take his medication. He walked up to her front door and knocked, once, twice, before she answered the door, “Hey, Clare, what’s up?”

When Clare heard a knock on the door, she quickly got up and answered it. “Hey, Eli,” she said, smiling a bit at him. “Come in.” She stepped aside so he could walk inside, and she closed the door behind him. “Do you want anything?” Clare offered as she sat back down on the couch.

Eli sat down on the comfy couch, ” Water would be nice ” He wasn’t a picky person, Or rather just didn’t care. ” So how have you bee, you seem bummed…Everything alright?” He was curious about his friend, he didn’t like to see her upset.

Clare stood back up and walked over to the kitchen, getting a drink of water for Eli and one for herself. She sat on the couch next to Eli, handing him the cup. She sighed, “I’ve been okay.” Clare took a sip of water and put her cup on the table. “Everything’s…different.”

Eli took a sip of the water and sat it back down on the table, he pondered at her last remark, surely not everything is constant, but it worried him. ” How so?”

“After what happened with you, and with Jake, everything has changed,” Clare started. She wasn’t sure if she was explaining things right or not. “It’s like all of a sudden, I’m all alone.”

Eli took in her words and paused, she was right in a way, they weren’t as close as they used to be. But that didn’t mean that he was there for her, ” You still have me”

Do you like the musings of Charles Bukowski, Chuck Palahniuk and Edgar Alan Poe?

If so, that’s an example of how we’re alike.

Looks like we have a lot to talk about.

Certainly do! Have you read Damned by Palahniuk by any chance?

Actually i have, That’s the one about the young girl who woke up in hell, right?

Clare was tired, despite not having done much. She was home alone, and she had asked Eli over. She just wanted to talk to somebody, anybody, that might listen to her. She got herself up off her bed and looked at her reflection in her mirror. Clare looked terrible, she knew that. Her eyes were…
